State the mode aloud
Before answering, say whether the example is a hand or crib and identify the starter. This makes an important input visible before you start adding combinations.
Count before revealing
The practice page provides six examples per session. Choose an answer, read the category breakdown, then revisit any component you counted differently. A wrong answer is more useful when you can explain its cause.
Change one assumption
If you are unsure about a flush, put the same cards into the calculator and change only the mode. If you are unsure about a run, inspect the listed card identities instead of guessing from the total.
Keep the score in perspective
The session measures this exercise only. It is not a ranking, certification or estimate of how well you will peg, discard or play against another person.
